BJ McKellar – Business Development Manager
BJ has been passionate about Real Estate since the early 2000s, having invested, sold, and managed properties. He bought his first rental property, a small duplex with long-term tenants, in his early 20s and quickly learned that managing rental properties is hard work, from maintenance to evictions to rent collection. Despite having a full-time job and a young family, BJ managed his rental property himself for about a year before turning it over to a professional so he could focus on his career as a Realtor.
As an agent, BJ helped others invest in real estate and picked up more investments for himself. Now he spends 100% of his time managing other investors’ rentals, with a focus on long-term buy and hold investments, which he considers to be the best retirement plans. With years of rehabbing experience, he can fix just about anything, making him a valuable asset to any property management team.
BJ’s top priority is his clients’ bottom line, and Real Property Management’s goal is to get them as much money as possible every month. To achieve this goal, the company works tirelessly to find the best possible tenants through a rigorous application process and keep them through quarterly evaluations, maintenance, and resident perks.
The company’s origins can be traced back to 2008/2009 when BJ experienced a significant financial loss on a fix-and-flip deal, leaving him in need of a new way to support his family. A friend introduced him to Real Property Management, which he saw as an opportunity to build a lasting business in real estate while continuing to pursue his passion for investments and working with landlords and investors.
